Role Summary/Purpose:  

Synchrony is continuing to build a world class Performance Marketing Organization committed to driving results with our retail and payments partners while also delivering leading customer experiences.  The AVP, Audience Manager will  be a subject matter expert on first/second/third party audiences, responsible for building, tracking, and maintaining audiences in various platforms and developing best practices for audience governance.  This role will analyze audiences, using multiple systems, such as but not limited to Website Analytics, CRM, and Media/Exposure Logs, to create dynamic personas.

This position is remote, where you have the option to work from home. On occasion we may request for you to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events. Essential Responsibilities

  • Translate data from disparate sources into actionable insights, creating personas to help marketing teams understand trends, optimization and growth opportunities 

  • Partner with cross functional teams to monitor and collect data on key audience cohorts to provide insights on channel, campaign, and portfolio level audience engagement  

  • Develop and execute strategies to build and engage audiences, focusing on utilizing 1st party data and growing capabilities to enhance the use of 1st party data

  • Develop and document audience best practices and processes on an ongoing basis

  • Manage the utilization of audience related technologies and capabilities - onboarding, personalization, 2nd/3rd party data

  • Develop partnership with cross functional teams, establishing a strong communicative and collaborative atmosphere, to understand their business needs and goals

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree or, in lieu of degree, a high school diploma/GED and 8 years of digital marketing, marketing analytics, paid media analytics, database marketing, or digital-audience experience 

  • 5+ years of digital experience, to include (can be concurrent): 

    • 4+ experience working directly within Digital Platforms (ex. CDP, DMP, DV360, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Neustar, LiveRamp, Dynamic Yield, Optimizely, Adobe Audience Manager, Salesforce, etc)  

    • 3+ years experience in direct digital audience creation, selection and segmentation  

  • 3+ years experience with the digital marketing landscape including display, mobile, video, social, programmatic and/or email 

  • 2+ year experience as a Business Analyst (‘BA’) or similar role; analyzing information, evaluating opportunities/solutions and communicating across organizations.  

Desired Characteristics:

  • Deep understanding and subject matter expertise of Digital Marketing Platforms, taxonomy, personalization and omni-channel strategies 

  • Extensive experience with compiling data from Google and/or Adobe Analytics, reporting on actionable results

  • Experience with Google DV360 and the utilization of 3rd Party Data  

  • Ability to provide analytic support including pulling data, preparing analysis, interpreting data, making strategic recommendations, and presenting to client/product teams

  • Experience with database management and segmentation tools/languages (ex. SAS, SQL, Unix) with consideration to data governance and data hygiene/quality/controls is highly desired 

  • Background in database marketing segmentation platforms and digital marketing stack implementations.  

  • Comfort with massive data sets, complex segmentation structures and striated campaign strategies. 

  • Familiarity with leading-edge data mining techniques and analytic platforms to feed a strong data management foundation 

  • Experience in Agile methodologies, processes and mindset 

  • Highly motivated, assertive self-starter with the ability to work autonomously or as a strong team participant 

  • Demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems, develop new tactics and address implementation obstacles 

  • Experience with R, Python is highly desirable 

  • Experienced with consumer financial services, ideally with exposure to credit card marketing or retail marketing, and familiar with consumer protection, privacy and related laws and policies

  • Experience measuring marketing campaigns and interpreting results

  • Ability to clearly explain technical and analytical information (verbally, written, and in presentation form) and summarize for key stakeholders

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
