Responsibilities

? Lead monthly financial close activities through preparation and posting of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis while ensuring the proper timelines are followed.

? Hands-on, full cycle general ledger accounting role that will oversee month-end close and financial reporting for clients.

? Monitor and delegate bookkeeping activities regularly.

? Balance financial records and check for inaccuracies.

? Analyze transactions and prepare reports.

? Perform regular, detailed audits in financial documents, expenditures, and investments on a random or scheduled basis.

? Oversee ledger reconciliation and manage accounts payable/receivable.

? Contribute to a strong client relationship through positive interactions and timely responses.

? Oversight of tax compliance for the clients ensuring accurate, timely reporting and filings for all taxes including franchise, property, rental, and other local taxes.

? Identify process gaps and work collaboratively with operations staff to implement process improvements.

? Adhere to, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting control procedures.

? Be a valued business partner and participate in business operations meetings as deemed necessary.

? Special projects and other ad-hoc requests as assigned.

Requirements

? 20+ years if proven accounting or bookkeeping experience.

? Must have EXTENSIVE knowledge and experience with QBO.

? Advanced level of proficiency with MS Excel.

? Excellent management and supervisory skills.

? Excellent analytical skill with an attention to detail.

? Strong organization, resourcefulness, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.

? Enthusiastic, positive, and collaborative; Ability to work independently and effectively with staff and clients.

? Skilled in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

? Good judgment and creative problem-solving skills.

? Ability to explain complex accounting data in a simple way.

? Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

? Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information.

? Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.

? Able to perform the tasks of other accounting employees in case of absence, vacancy or as needed.

? Interest in and demonstrated ability to train and mentor junior staff as we grow our team.

? Ability to identify opportunities for professional development of staff.

? Ability to quickly integrate into our team, and to work independently.

? Excellent interpersonal communication, both written and verbal.

? Customer service orientation and skills; comfortable answering client questions and solving problems as needed.

? Professional services experience a plus.

Education and Experience:

? BS/BA degree in Accounting is preferred

? EXTENSIVE knowledge in QuickBooks Online
