Nestled in a wooded retreat on the north side of Lake Pontchartrain, we are just east of the causeway and 45 minutes from New Orleans. We provide long and short-term behavioral health care to adults and adolescents, and acute detox and substance abuse care.

While you won’t be leaping tall buildings in a single bound, during the course of a day, you can expect to:
Essential Functions:
- Direct and manage the referral process for admissions into the facility
- Work closely with the Director of Admissions, Director of Clinical Services, Medical Director, and Director of Nursing to ensure acceptance of patients is in keeping with the admission & exclusionary criteria of the hospital & are appropriate for admission
- Gather required information from referral sources to decide about the appropriateness of the patient for admission; maintain a referral log that identifies all referrals, dates, person making the referral, and outcome
- Provide a written summary of each patient being admitted that includes identifying information, behaviors, reason for referral or need for treatment & background
- Assume responsibility for generating referral packet and completing all relevant/required paperwork
- Conduct initial certification assessments
- Conduct managed care pre-certifications and complete all required paperwork to ensure prompt processing of insurance claims
- Serve actively and constructively as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team, and ensure the safety and wellbeing of each patient
- All other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited school or college of nursing. BSN or BS preferred. Specialty certification is also preferred.
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of recent experience in Admissions or In-Take department preferred; psychiatric preferred. ER experience or geriatric care may substitute.
Licensure/Certification: Obtain CPR/CPI certification; State of Louisiana LPN license required
HIPAA: Has access to and adds information to the Medical Record. May only access medical records of assigned patients.
