WHO WE ARE: Orchid Cove @ Longwood - 120 bed Skilled Nursing Facility in Longwood, FL is currently seeking an ADON Infection Control Nurse.  We are a growing facility in need of an energetic and talented new clinical professional to join our team.

As the ADON you will be responsible for the organizing, developing, and directing of nursing services in conjunction with the DON within the Skilled Nursing Facility to include overseeing infectious control within the facility.  To be most successful in the role of ADON, you will be a team player with great conflict resolution skills, who is able to display unlimited patience and a positive demeanor with every single interaction.  Here @ Orchid Cove Longwood, we believe in a strong TEAM approach that truly improves the lives of all our residents.

RN ADON Infection Control Nurse Job Summary & Qualifications:

  • Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates and directs the overall operations of the Nursing Services department, as well as its programs and activities
  • Interprets and communicates policies and procedures to nursing staff, and monitors staff practices and implementation.
  • Participates in all admission decisions.
  • Participates in daily or weekly management team meetings to discuss census changes, resident changes in status, complaints or concerns.
  • Evaluates work performance of all nursing personnel and implements discipline according to operational policies.
  • Ensures delivery of compassionate quality care and nursing supervision as evidenced by adequate staff coverage on the units, general cleanliness, and maintaining optimal resident functions.
  • Collaborates with members of the interdisciplinary team, physicians, consultants, and community agencies to identify and resolve issues and improve the quality of services.
  • Recognize infections that should be reported to state public health agencies.
  • Work with the nursing director to develop an infectious disease–control program.
  • Identify and report any infectious disease outbreaks within the facility.
  • Active RN License Required
  • Minimum 1-3 years’ experience preferred as an ADON or RN Supervisor in a hospital, SNF, LTAC, or other related health care facility.
  • Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to LTC
  • CPR Certification Required
