Job Title: ​Assistant Manager of Main Production (RTP)

Location: Raleigh, NC

Shift: Second (Monday - Friday 3:00pm - 12:00am)

Purpose statement:

The Assistant Manager of Main Production monitors and facilitates the daily operations of the RTP Main Production department and coordinates the hiring, training, development and engagement of the staff.  

Essential Functions:

  • Supervises and directs Main Production staff which would include employee hiring, training, evaluations and discipline.

  • Interacts with all IDT personnel on issues relating to oligonucleotide synthesis, quantification, formulation and final packaging.

  • Performs all responsibilities of a Production Scientist I and II, and Team Leader.

  • Assists in and reviews the development of new procedures and processes.

  • Assists in the tracking of special customer orders often under timeline restrictions.

  • Supports Main Production operations at all facilities.

  • Documents any process deviations or non-conformances appropriately.

  • Keeps all work instructions and logs pertaining to processes current and initiates the creation of additional documents when necessary.

  • Organizes and prioritizes workflow within the department and communicates with staff to ensure that all products are completed according to customer requirements and sent.

  • Communicates departmental needs to supervisor regarding quality, speed or cost potential improvements.

  • Collaborates with other critical operational departments or groups to ensure product completion according to customer specifications.

  • Ensures ISO documentation is current and accurate

  • Troubleshoots daily lab, instrumentation and process problems and plans a corrective course of action.

  • Creates opportunities for personnel to enhance department productivity

  • Responsible for the development and monitoring of departmental quality objectives and KPIs.  Develops counter measures and actions plans to assure objectives remain on-target.

  • Contributes to associate engagement.  Strives to improve the engagement survey results through execution    of the engagement action plan.

  • Assures IDT Quality system requirements are met to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.

  • Contributes to the annual budget development process.  Manages accordingly to adhere to the budget amount.

  • Demonstrates and upholds behavior consistent with the Integrated DNA Technologies Core Values and delivers the Integrated DNA Technologies experience to customers and other business associates.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Associate degree in science related field plus 2 years of applicable lab experience required; Bachelor’s degree in science related field preferred.  

  • Understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 14001 required.

Professional Experience:

  • Strong working knowledge of IDT manufacturing practices required.

  • Previous leadership experience preferred.

  • Successful completion of Team Leader course requirements preferred.

  • Minimum of three years of experience working within synthesis and/or formulation environment preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Exert 20-50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or 10-15 lbs. of force frequently
