JOB DESCRIPTION – INSTALLATION AND SERVICE TECHNICIAN (Robotics / Automation Industry)

 

We are currently seeking an experienced Automation  Installation and Service Technician for our client. You will be responsible for the installation of our clients robotics and automation equipment as well as troubleshooting and maintenance as needed to keep the equipment operating consistently at a high level. Our ideal candidate has at least two years of Installation and Service Technician experience, preferably in the Manufacturing / Industrial Automation Industry.

 

What is needed in this role:

 

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, electrical engineering or a related field
• 2+ years of experience with installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of robotics / automation equipment
• Experience with FANUC and other robotics programming and mechanics

 

Other responsibilities (Overview):

• Assist engineering and plant staff with the specification, installation and modification of systems
• Communicate status, manage expectations, resolve issues and insure top-quality service
• Work with team members, site customers and leadership on assigned projects
• Provide expertise to continue advancement of automated systems throughout a site
• Install, maintain and inspect control system and workstation installations throughout a facility
• Inspect and review manufacturing equipment installations for design and troubleshooting purposes
• Ensure machines are properly calibrated
• Coordinate personnel schedules and duties as required to accomplish departmental goals
• Provide technical and business guidance and mentoring for automation technicians and automation engineers
• Provide system operation training on the assigned automation systems
• Provide troubleshooting and maintenance support for all assigned automated systems potentially at all hours depending upon plant schedule
