With a focus on the North American car scene, the editorial team at HotCars is looking for a driven and highly knowledgeable Automotive Journalist to join its expanding team.

If you're a passionate car enthusiast who stays up to date with the latest trends in the automotive industry, HotCars.com wants you! HotCars.com is one of the largest car enthusiast-centric online publishers in the world, with over 10 million monthly readers.

The ideal journalist will be tasked with producing high quality, authoritative, and original content sourced from: his or her interviews with respectable people in the industry; test drives; and auto shows and conventions.

This person will be working alongside HotCars' deputy and managing editors in an effort to grow the brand's authority in the automotive media landscape.

Responsibilities

• Journalist should publish 5 articles/week (reviews, special features, guides, exclusives, test drives, etc.);
• Proofread and edit spelling, grammar, and syntax;
• Ensure SEO practices are implemented in all articles published;
• Collaborate with the writing team in all aspects of the writing process;
• Pitch article topics.

Qualifications

• Experience in the automotive media world is a must;
• Regular access to press fleets;
• Has insider access to the automotive industry;
• Takes pride and ownership in their work;
• Familiarity with Photoshop is an asset.
• Knowledge of SEO and industry best practices;
• Practical knowledge with the ability to learn quickly;
• Driven to achieve goals through hard work;
• Good communication skills;
• Meticulous attention to detail and capability of producing flawless work;
• Previous editing experience is a plus.
