What You Will Do:

Planning, communicating, training, and selling of the company’s rod pumps and accessories within a defined region*.  Maintain excellent customer relationships while striving to expand market share and achieve sales and profit goals.  Maintain assigned customer accounts at their present locations.  Maintain relationships with major existing or potential customers.  Inform sales manager of competitor’s product line/pricing policy.  Identify specific high potential customers within the region, including a strategy for acquiring their business.  Assist sales manager with training customers on product use.  Assist sales manager in preparing annual operating expense budget within defined region.  Inform sales manager of new product opportunities.  Prepare sales objectives and expense control goals.  Assist sales manager in preparation of yearly sales forecast.

  • Sells company products and services by developing new prospects and accounts.

  • Achieves sales targets and ensures customer satisfaction.

  • Provides services to customers on company products; makes recommendations on repair versus replace decisions; provides time and cost estimates for service activities.

  • Develops strong customer relationships.

  • Conducts negotiations according to company guidelines.

  • Identifies, researches, and contacts prospective customers and builds positive relationships that will generate future sales and repeat business.

  • Responds to customer concerns about the company and its products.

  • Knows and complies with all safety policies and procedures.

  • Contributes to the department continuous improvement culture.

  • Effectively uses sales tools and processes to promote an efficient and effective sales process.

  • Uses company resources, such as manuals, product guides, and service checklists to provide proactive and appropriate service.

  • Maintains confidentiality of all matters.

  • Other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Valid driver's license in state of residence

  • 2+ years of relevant experience

  • 1+ years’ experience in the oil and gas industry

  • 4 years outside sales experience

  • Strong knowledge of products and functions with the rod pump market

  • Ability to travel up to 75%

  • Must have exceptional organizational skills

  • Solid knowledge of and ability to use personal computers and related software inlcuding Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with personnel of all levels in an organization

  • The drive to provide excellent customer service

  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Good oral and written communication skills, including the ability to follow written and oral instructions

  • Good math and analytical skills

  • Good organizational and time management skills

  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with downhole pumps

Physical Demands

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

  • The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

  • Ability to lift 10 lbs.

  • Role is deemed safety sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing.
