Job Description
The Banking Risk Management Specialists primary function is to assess the fraud and compliance risk for new and existing clients. This includes completing OFAC reviews, credit monitoring, identifying prohibited businesses and conducting routine client health checks/audits. This position will be responsible for adhering to the risk policy set forth by the Paycom Board of Directors and executing decisions daily based upon procedures and expectations developed by management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform initial risk assessment and establish approved funding methods for onboarding clients, including KYC (Know Your Customer)
- Monitoring & Reporting
- Initiate regular OFAC reviews
- Monitor credit for existing clients
- Perform recurring audits of clients in high risk businesses or industries
- Perform recurring audits to review established funding methods for clients
- Research & Recovery
- Monitor fraud trends and recommend strategies to deter fraudulent activity and protect company assets
- Investigate potential fraudulent activity and report findings to management and legal
- Monitor and update Net Exposure Report
- Adhere to all controls set forth in the Paycom SOC 1 report (Service Organization Controls) and internal controls adopted by management that relate to SOX (Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002) processes
- Handle and research complex issues while helping create and maintain a positive and customer service oriented environment; escalate issues with management team as needed
- Clearly communicate issues and expectations with other departments within the company
- Available, approachable and willing to advise, assist and train other team members and departments
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
- High School graduate
- Bachelors degree in accounting or finance, experience considered in lieu of degree
Experience Required:
- Proficient with Dun & Bradstreet application
- Proficient with LexisNexis application
Skills and Abilities:
- Intermediate knowledge of accounting
- Advanced knowledge of bank operations
- Advanced reconciliation techniques
- Advanced knowledge of Outlook
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Intermediate knowledge of banking rules and regulations
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet critical deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with others
- Able to work flexible hours (if needed)
- Eager to continue learning
- Ability to prioritize tasks in order of importance
- Very detail oriented
- Integrity of the highest level
