Location: Houston, Texas; Remote possible


Looking for a passionate, and motivated self-starter that will be responsible for developing and driving US sales for a company that supplies innovative solutions, training, and consultancy in the Industrial Automation market. Our client, a manufacturer of some of the most recognized solutions, specializing in the field of PROFIBUS, PROFINET, and Industrial Ethernet Technologies is looking for a Business Development Manager who is self-motivated, proactive, and able to build strong customer relationships and expand their business.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain customer relationships, including post-sale relations
  • Plan and execute from the beginning of the sales process to close
  • Utilize resources and develop knowledge of products through technical updates, product specialists, management assistance, and clinical applications
  • Achieve or exceed sales quotas
  • Control individual costs associated with each sale
  • Anticipate customer needs and promote all product lines and point of sale service contracts
  • Provide reporting, communications, and documentation related to sales
  • Improve market penetration in assigned territory
  • Implement and monitor the distribution of solutions
  • Responsible for the commercial goals of US Subsidiaries
  • Business development, acquisition, and contract negotiation
  • Develop external business through presentations, events, and company visits
  • Identify the needs and wishes of the customers and convert this into product plans
  • Develop external relationships at the management level and drive continuous improvement of customer satisfaction
  • Report the US Sales results regularly to the Global Sales Manager
  • Cooperation with the Marketing department to work in line with the company strategy
  • Other relevant duties as assigned by the manager

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred or relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • 3-5 years of sales experience in an equivalent position with a track record of success
  • Understanding of the relevant business units and industrial automation
  • Excellent CRM system and Microsoft Office knowledge
  • Sales process-driven
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently
  • Ability to travel up to 80%
