The Chronicle is seeking a Business Development Representative.  

 

This is a hybrid position requiring at least 1 day a week in the Washington DC office if you are within driving distance. Candidates in CA, WA, TX, FL, NY, NJ, MD, and VA may be considered remotely. 

 

The Business Development Representative will work in partnership with the Sales team to understand client objectives and develop strategies for reaching customers and generating sales leads. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and knowledge of customer relationship management to help optimize the Sales team’s performance.

What you’ll do: 

  • Focuses on generating qualified prospects using cold email, cold calling, social selling, and networking. 
  • Communicate with customers to determine their needs and preferences. 
  • Setting up a time for the prospect to meet or speak with a Relationship Manager.  
  • Performing research, identifying sales trends, preparing proposals, and creating sales decks for presentations. 
  • Partner with a sales or marketing team to ensure marketing campaigns align with the department’s sales goals. 
  • Use CRM to add contacts, update notes, add Deals and create tasks. 
  • Develop strong understanding of The Chronicle Recruitment products and offerings. 
  • Lead qualification and distribution 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Sales, Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or other related field of study  
  • Prior experience working in client-facing roles required.   
  • Excellent communication skills with a track record of working successfully with clients and cross-functional teams and demonstrating a sense of urgency.
