Job Description
Morton is seeking a Business Intelligence Consultant for our client in Des Moines, Iowa. This person will partner with stakeholders to make informed, data-driven decisions and promote the advancement of the analytical culture and capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and prioritize opportunities for improving business partner decisions. Uncover new opportunities by leveraging analytic practices to design, build new, creative, high impact analytic solutions.
- Serve as a liaison for their business partner(s) with other teams/departments (BTS, consultants, regions, Actuarial, Finance, Data Science, etc.) to develop and enhance solutions that improve decision-making processes.
- Produce analysis and communicate insights that are actionable by business partners. Research, design, implement and validate solutions to achieve targeted outcomes.
- Partner with RDW to access, explore and condition data. Develop and deploy solutions using data analysis, data mining, optimization tools, machine learning techniques and statistics.
- Produce data visualization such as charts, infographic and dashboards to communicate findings and actionable recommendations to internal stakeholders clearly and effectively.
- Promote the advancement of advanced analytics capabilities, including business intelligence and predictive/prescriptive modeling.
- Serve as a catalyst in the evolution of the segment’s business intelligence capabilities and champion of self-serve analytics capabilities.
- Steward for internal and external data sources, supporting data governance and the continuous improvement of data availability and data quality.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor' s degree; or 5-7 years’ experience as a business analyst, actuarial analyst or other comparable analytics role
- Possess strong analytical ability to dissect, manage and interpret all levels of data
- Expertise in analyzing large, complex, multi-dimensional datasets using a variety of tools.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills
- Strong customer orientation, relationship building, teamwork and collaboration skills
- Work independently as well as effectively manage a project and/or lead a team
- Regularly and consistently demonstrates commitment to company values and guiding principles
- Proven Abilities to take initiative and be innovative
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Microsoft Access, SAS, R, SQL and business intelligence/visual analytics skills required
- Ability to travel on an occasional basis
