Job Description
Well-established NY-based non profit organization(affordable housing/real estate sector) seeks to hire a CFO!!
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Chief Financial Officer, (CFO), reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for the safeguarding of the Agency & assets and the financial stability of the non-profit organization as a whole. The Chief Financial Officer oversees all budgeting, financial reports and other financial functions of the various non-profit enterprises. The
Chief Financial Officer further coordinates the day to day financial operations for non-profit organization and its affiliates and ensures contractual compliance to all programs and is responsible for the implementation of both short and long term goals of the Organization.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directs the preparation of all financial statements and reports, including income statements, budgets, balance sheets, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.
Interacts with Funding Sources.
Acts as liaison between the Company and outside financial institutions.
Supervises Facility Comptrollers.
Establishes and implements internal accounting controls.
Establishes Company accounting policies and procedures.
Works with independent auditors in preparing the annual financial statements.
Serves as part of the Executive Committee.
Performs special projects for the Board and Executive Director.
Works directly with the Program Directors on their facility & specific issues.
Prepares annual budgets.
Prepares quarterly and annual financial reports.
Reviews all accounts and reports on a monthly basis.
Regulatory Compliance.
Performs all duties necessary for the operation of the Fiscal Department.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees Accounting department, budget preparation, and audit functions.
Works with other department heads to monitor each department and make recommendations.
Required Education and Experience:
Public accounting background a must, Certified Public Accountant designation-CPA, minimum 10 years experience in public/non profit accounting, analytical and management skills required. Prior financial management experience, understanding of government programs, knowledge of IRS compliance.
Excellent management and supervisory skills.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Proficient in database and accounting computer application systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
This is 5 days in the office...no remote work
Candidate must be a CPA and have solid non-profit industry experience
