CNA Minimum Qualifications

CERTIFIED: Current Nursing Assistant Certification from state. Maintain CPR Certification. High School Graduate or GED.

NON-CERTIFIED: Currently attending a CNA class, working toward certification (May not work non-certified for more than 4 months)

CNA Job Responsibilities:

Assist with daily living activities including serving meals, ambulating, turning and positioning residents, etc.
Help residents with personal hygiene
Provide adjunct care
Daily medical record documentation
Assist the nurses and other staff as needed
Provide resident comfort by utilizing resources and material, answering call lights and requests, and reporting observations to the Charge/ Staff Nurse
Adhere to professional standards, follow policies and procedures, and abide by federal, state and local requirements
Protect our values by keeping patient information confidential
May have to work beyond normal schedule (weekends or in other areas temporarily, when necessary)
Subject to call-back during emergency conditions (ex: severe weather, evacuation, etc.)
Subject to exposure to infectious waste, conditions, and diseases such as TB, AIDS or Hepatitis B.
May be subject to the handling of and/or exposure to hazardous chemicals
