The Certified Nurse Aide performs various resident care activities and related nonprofessional services essential to caring for personal needs and comfort of residents.

1. Handles and serves residents in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, adhering to Instructions issued by the nursing supervisor and or charge nurse to establish shift routines.
2. Performs duties in accordance with established methods and techniques and in conformance with recognized standards.
3. Provides maximum resident care services within limits defined by delegated tasks.
4. Assumes responsibility for varied resident care duties as assigned by charge nurse to include admitting, discharging. transferring and caring for the resident's personal belongings and assisting the professional nurse in performing resident treatments.
5. Bathes the resident in bed, tub or shower, combs hair, cleans and cuts fingernails and gives shampoos.
6. Makes both occupied and unoccupied beds; Positions residents in correct body alignment in and out of bed and applies safety measures under the direction of the charge nurse.
7. Assists the residents in and out of bed, in walking and transports residents throughout a facility via wheelchair, geri-chair, or stretcher, may accompany residents when transported outside the facility for appointments.
8. Coordinates scheduling for residents requiring O.T., P.T., S.T., to assure that they are available for the therapist on a timely basis.
9. Verifies that all residents have wrist bands, medication, picture, and door tags.
10. Accompanies residents when transported outside facility for appointments as needed.
11. Assists the charge nurse during the resident admission assessment.
12. Participates in the formulation and follow through of the resident's nursing care plan.
13. Takes and records weights, blood pressures, temperatures, pulse and respiration.
14. Gives various skin care treatments; 16 Applies simple clean dressings, slings, stockings, and support bandages, under direction of the licensed nurse; 17 Feeds residents, assists all residents with their meals and provides in between meal nourishment, as well as providing fresh ice and water to the resident's bedside;
15. Completes record of resident's oral intake and output
16. Answers resident's call light or bell, delivers messages, administers bedpans and urinals, cleans areas of spillage or accidents caused by the resident:
17. Performs isolation care as needed for resident's condition.
18. Participates in the orientation of new nursing assistants.
19. Provides direct care to the more acutely ill residents on the nursing unit.
20. Reports any/all changes in resident's condition, any family concerns and resident's complaints to charge nurse and/or supervisor.
21. Collects and bags soiled linen and delivers to dirty linen area; if assigned, washes and dries items in domestic Washer/drier.
22. Obtains clean linens and supplies from supply areas as directed, cleans utility rooms, kitchen areas and all other nursing areas, as assigned.
23. Cleans and sterilizes resident equipment.
24. Receives and escorts visitors, collects, charts, records and reports.
25. Transfers resident's belongings and equipment as directed, and assists with postmortem care.
26. Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights.
27. Assists with treatments and vitals, as necessary.
28. Performs other duties as requested.
29. MUST HAVE VALID NJ Nurse Aide Certification
30. All applicants must be fully vaccinated and willing to receive Flu vaccines
