We are searching for a CNC Machinist. Our client is a growing leader in providing precision machined components and assemblies to a wide variety of industries including aerospace, medical, and industrial. They serve regional and global manufacturing companies with locations throughout the United States from its production facility located in Raleigh, North Carolina Area. Job Description
This role is perfect for the self-starter and driven person with a creative mind and strong problem-solving skills.
Responsible for producing machined parts by setting up and operating lathe, and mill machining centers to fabricate parts and components while maintaining quality, production, and safety standards.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Use blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and tolerance levels of finished parts
- Set up and operate precision machine tool to make original parts, tools, mechanisms, and devices
- Determine material, parts, and equipment required
- Load CNC program and adjust for basic level programming changes
- Set up and operate CNC mills and CNC lathes
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines.
- Support the Lean Enterprise initiatives and continuously strive to improve customer satisfaction through improved quality, reduction in waste, and improved productivity.
- Understand feeds, speeds, tooling, and operational sequences.
- Review part process and program off-line for potential problems before they occur
- Perform needed metrology inspections and report issues
- Identify best methods to make high quality parts within the quoted cycle time
Qualifications/skills:
- 3-5+ years of CNC Machining experience
- Technical school certification or Apprenticeship program of completion preferred but not a deal-breaker
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints
- Knowledge of shop math, including geometry and conversions
- Extensive knowledge of G and M codes
- Detailed knowledge of measuring techniques and best practices
- Ability to successfully work with cross-functional team members such as engineering, programming, scheduling, purchasing, and sales
