Position Summary:

Under medical direction and by order of physician, performs a full range of respiratory therapeutic modalities and diagnostic measurements for patients requiring cardio-pulmonary services in both critical and non-critical care areas on all age groups except neonates.  Accepts other duties as assigned.

 


Position Requirements:
 
Licensure/ Certification/Registration:
  • Current State of California RCP license. 

  • Current BCLS. 

  • Current PALS preferred.

  • Current NRP. 

  • RRT preferred.

Education:
  • Completion of an AMA approved 1 or 2 year Respiratory Therapy Program. 

  • Formal training in neonatal respiratory care. 

  • Successful completion of the NBRC CRT exam. 

Experience:
  • Recent respiratory care experience in an acute care facility including adult critical care. 

  • Pediatric and neonatal care.

  • Competent in the performance of oxygen and aerosol therapy, hyperventilation therapy, volume measuring devices, pulmonary medication delivery, sputum induction, chest physic-therapy, airway maintenance, emergency respiratory care equipment and procedures, arterial blood gas puncture and analysis. 

  • Competency in adult, pediatric, and neonatal critical care procedures, including ventilator management and all its adjuncts.
