Under medical direction and by order of physician, performs a full range of respiratory therapeutic modalities and diagnostic measurements for patients requiring cardio-pulmonary services in both critical and non-critical care areas on all age groups except neonates. Accepts other duties as assigned.

Current State of California RCP license.
-
Current BCLS.
-
Current PALS preferred.
-
Current NRP.
-
RRT preferred.
-
Completion of an AMA approved 1 or 2 year Respiratory Therapy Program.

Formal training in neonatal respiratory care.

Successful completion of the NBRC CRT exam.
-
Recent respiratory care experience in an acute care facility including adult critical care.

Pediatric and neonatal care.

Competent in the performance of oxygen and aerosol therapy, hyperventilation therapy, volume measuring devices, pulmonary medication delivery, sputum induction, chest physic-therapy, airway maintenance, emergency respiratory care equipment and procedures, arterial blood gas puncture and analysis.

Competency in adult, pediatric, and neonatal critical care procedures, including ventilator management and all its adjuncts.
