Responsibilities

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under supervision plans, organizes and performs CT procedures to apply x-ray energy and computer processing techniques to assist in physician diagnosis and treatment.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintains proficiency with all CT equipment and procedures performed at the IHC
  • Performs daily quality control and safety procedures and maintains accurate records.
  • Administers patient care within the scope of practice for a CT/radiologic technologist.
  • Instructs and educates patient regarding the ordered test and prepares the patient for the procedure.
  • Maintains and completes all necessary paperwork and charting for the business office and medical records.
  • Keeps current with OSHA/IDPH regulations and updates. 
  • Maintain and monitors supplies.
  • Maintains safe and clean workplace.
  • Attends required meetings and participates on committees as requested.
  • Operate required vehicle(s) in a safe manner to perform required duties of the position.

Qualifications

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Successful completion of an accredited two year Radiologic Technology program.
  • Registry eligible or Registered Radiologic Technologist
  • Maintains current Iowa Permit to Practice
  • Maintains active registry status in ARRT
  • Participates in professional society (i.e., ISRT or SCD)
  • 1 CEU per year in Radiation Safety/24 CEU’s every 2 years
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
  • Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.
