Caregiver

Wage: $18-$20/hour

Work hours: M-Th/Fr, 8am-3 or 4pm

Benefits: flexible hours, paid leave, holidays off

Start date: January 10, 2022 or until position is filled

Description:

Our daughter Ada, 22, was born with special needs. Shecommunicates nonverbally. Ada loves music, watching DVDs, napping, and outings.She is calm and easygoing, and shares a unique sense of humor with smiles andgiggles. She copes with a serious seizure disorder.

Ada requires assistance in every aspect of daily living,including walking, bathing, eating, and taking medications. She also requiresassistance to safely participate in her community. Ada has a team of caregiverswho work together to cover shifts as needed. Her parents serve as the backupfor the team.

We have recruited and managed Team Ada for over 15 years,and enjoy working with her caregivers as a team in our home. We provideextensive training while you become familiar with the position. Payroll, taxwithholding, etc., are organized through Veridian Credit Union as part of theConsumer Choice Options program. A background check is required.

Required qualifications:

• Available for 30-40 hours each week on weekdays,except holidays
• Fully vaccinated for COVID
• Interested in caring for individuals withspecial needs 
• Able to communicate effectively with Ada,parents and other team members
• Physical ability to walk and guide a 115-poundperson
• Reliable and punctual; able to workindependently

Job duties

• Bathing, dressing, toileting
• Preparing and feeding meals
• Managing medications
• Folding her laundry
• Transportation to medical appointments
• Assisting her to participate in activities athome and in the community
• Helping her work on her communication skills
• Preventing injury from seizures
