Our physicians represent a wide range of surgical fields - from general, to plastic, to bariatric, to orthopaedic, to neurosurgery, to emergency surgery and more – placing CHI St. Alexius Health and its medical staff among the most trusted in the region. With the most modern technologies at their fingertips, our surgeons employ advanced surgical techniques, including laparoscopic surgery, which involves minimal incisions for less scarring and faster healing to minimally invasive surgery.

We are looking for a responsible and compassionate surgical technician with top-notch organization skills, a caring attitude, attention to detail and the ability to think quickly on their feet. As a key member of the team, the surgical technician must anticipate the needs of the patient and the surgeon to ensure that each operation goes as smoothly as possible. It is also important to display excellent verbal skills; knowledge of asepsis, case preparation and infection control. The Surgical Technician  works as a part of the surgical team under the direction of surgeons and/or registered nurses. This position contributes to the safety and efficiency of the surgical team by performing a variety of tasks before, during, and after surgical/invasive procedures.

This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $5,000!

• Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist program or an equivalent training (LPN or RN) program that has been reviewed and approved by the department director and VP of Patient Care Services.
• Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP registration from the North Dakota Board of Nursing required upon hire).
• Required knowledge: Principles of asepsis, case preparation, infection control.
• Must be proficient with computers and computer applications used in the healthcare setting.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.

Preferred Qualifications

• CST Certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Center for Competency Training (NCCT) preferred.
• BLS Certification within 30 days of hire.
