Job Description

The Clinical Director is responsible for managing the home health organization's daily operations, including the medical procedures and treatments of the medical professionals and practitioners. The Clinical Director works with other healthcare professionals to optimize treatments, assess patients' health conditions, and administer medications. They also enforce strict sanitary and hygienic procedures for strict compliance of the staff. The Clinical Director must have excellent knowledge of the medical industry to discuss recommendations and evaluate work procedures to provide the patients' highest quality services.

Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Coordination and management of all services rendered to patients and families by direct service staff under his/her supervision;
  • Supervision of assigned nursing personnel in the delivery of nursing services to patients and families;
  • Direct evaluation of the clinical competence of assigned nursing personnel and participation with appropriate supervisory staff in the evaluation of other direct service staff;
  • Participation in or development of all agency objectives, standards of care, policies and procedures affecting clinical services;
  • Participation in direct services staff recruitment, selection, orientation and inservice education;
  • Participation in program planning, budgeting and evaluation activities related to the clinical services of the agency
  • Oversee day to day clinical operations of services provided to patients by clinicians and caregivers
  • Oversee the quality assurance and OASIS review team
  • Go in field to see patients during supervisory visits
  • Go in field to do admissions or nursing visits from time-to-time as/if/when needed
Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Registered Nurse with an active license in good standing to practice nursing in California
  • Minimum of two years experience within the last five years in a home health agency
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • OASIS documentation experience
  • Familiarity with Kinnser / Wellsky Home Health a plus
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured and in accordance with state requirements 
  • Must have current CPR Certification
  • Computer proficiency including MS Excel, Word, video conferencing and email
