As a clinical supervisor for New Journeys, you will provide leadership to a four-member interdisciplinary team serving 20-30 clients who have recently experienced their first psychotic episode. This position is Monday through Friday, consistent with Adult Outpatient business hours.

This position is an excellent opportunity for professional development since it includes extensive training and consultation opportunities with experts in treating first-episode psychosis (FEP) from the University of Washington and the Washington State Health Care Authority.

New Journeys is designed to support clients through their first two years of recovery, providing family education, resilience-oriented therapy, employment support, peer support, and case management to help clients manage their symptoms while achieving their personal goals. The program is designed to serve clients between the ages of 15 and 40, with the majority of clients expected to be aged 18-28. A KMHS prescriber will provide medication management to clients served by the team.

As a team lead, you will be providing family education to client support and leading the care team.

You will also be educating external community agencies and providers about the importance of early intervention for psychotic disorders, and screening referrals to the program.

WHAT YOULL DO

• Direct the day-to-day clinical operations of the care team, and provide administrative coordination as needed with referral sources.
• Assure that the quality of care provided meets fidelity standards provided for the statewide network of New Journeys care teams.
• Participate in the comprehensive assessment of client needs to assure person-centered treatment planning.
• Work with clients and their families, providing education about psychosis and how to manage it, improving communication and problem-solving skills.
• Oversee data collection through clinical tools and protocols designed to measure key indicators of progress in treatment for this population.
• Assist clinicians in the performance of their duties by overseeing and participating in clinical coordination/problem solving between clients and clinicians and other agency programs and community resources. Coordinate crisis intervention with the Crisis Response team, Crisis Triage Center, and other providers as clinically necessary.
• Participate in monthly training provided by Washington Health Care Authority First Episode Psychosis Program and the University of Washington. Consult with their program director and receive support for program development as your team starts serving clients.
• Maintain a Trauma-Informed Care work environment with a focus on the utilization of Recovery Based Language in both written and verbal communications.
• In addition to the above, any other responsibilities appropriate to the position and not specifically listed in the job description. You will receive ongoing assistance and supervision from the KMHS Director of Special Programs, a licensed LMHC, and SUDP.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Masters Degree in Psychology, social services, or a mental health field.

EXPERIENCE: Intermediate (minimum 3 years of job-related experience)

Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license with an acceptable motor vehicle report and reliable personal transportation.

LICENSURE: Agency Affiliated Counselor

Preferred Qualifications:

EXPERIENCE: Specialist (minimum 5 years of job-related experience)

Business-rated insurance may be required if performing outreach duties.

LICENSURE: Washington License (LICSW, LMFT or LMHC) more
