Job Description

SGS is currently looking for a Coating Inspector within the oil&gas / Pipeline

• The Coating Inspector is the Company’s authorized representative and is to observe the Contractor’s progress and inspect all coating and painting activities in his/her assigned areas in accordance with Company drawings, plans, specifications and the terms of the construction contract or agreement.
• The Coating Inspector works under the direction of the Chief Inspector or Assistant Chief Inspector and will also be asked to assist other certified craft inspectors, as directed.
  

Qualifications

• ASP Certification
• API 1169 certification preferred all levels
• Carries a degree / diploma as a civil engineer, technician or technologist; and
• Carries a minimum NACE Level 1 certification through NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineers).
• Working knowledge of the latest Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Z662 Oil and Gas Pipeline System and CSA Z245.30 Field-Applied External Coatings for Steel Pipeline Systems (Canada only)
• Preferred NACE Level II certification through NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineers).
