JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Community Fundraising Specialist is responsible for managing a portfolio of Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals fundraising partners and programs. They will work to cultivate a productive relationship with assigned partners and steward their participation in campaigns and events with the ultimate goal of increasing funds and awareness for the UVM Children’s Hospital. This person will travel within the North Country region to visit our partners as necessary.

The Specialist will assist the Community Fundraising Supervisor in the coordination and execution of the Annual UVM Children’s Hospital Signature Events. This person will also assist the Supervisor with other key fundraising initiatives, including strategy development, partner kickoff events, and creative approaches to growing the CMN Hospitals online giving initiatives through our web-based, friends-asking-friends platform. They will also assist with donor recognition and stewardship events for CMN Hospitals and community fundraising partners.

The Specialist will assist in the recruitment, education, engagement, and stewardship of ambassador patients and families and volunteers.

Working closely with Communications and Engagement, this person will develop communications and messaging to promote and steward their portfolio of partners and programs.

The Specialist will serve as lead for third party fundraisers for the UVM Medical Center and UVM Children’s Hospital. They will ensure these events are in compliance with our policies and appropriately representing our brand. This person will educate and steward third party fundraisers in order to maximize potential revenue.

The Specialist will lead employee engagement initiatives, with the goal of educating employees on the importance of fundraising and encouraging their participation.

The Specialist will serve as a secondary liaison with the CMN Hospitals’ national organization and will be a spokesperson on behalf of CMN Hospital to our community partners.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.

EXPERIENCE:

2-4 years of experience in fundraising, sales/marketing, event planning and/or interpersonal/sales experience required. Prior experience in non-profit or healthcare setting preferred.
