L.L. Bean is currently searching for a Senior Analyst to join the Consumer Insights Team. We welcome the opportunity for this role to be based at the corporate headquarters in Freeport, Maine, or to be based remotely.
As a Senior Analyst for the Consumer Insights team, you’ll help develop customer insights that help shape our integrated marketing and brand strategies. This team serves as a customer champion, bringing deep customer understanding and key insights to the organization. The person in this role will be responsible for research and insights development for a wide variety of strategic initiatives, seasonal campaign and messaging planning, brand measurement and management, and creative testing (TV and Digital). We’re looking for a strong collaborator to work closely with stakeholders in Brand, Creative, Merchandising, and Marketing to design research and uncover key insights to inform go to market strategic planning and execution.

Role responsibilities
Influence brand decisions and drive consumer and market understanding by creating/synthesizing insights and recommendations by leveraging syndicated research/market data as well as primary / custom research (qualitative and quantitative studies). Drive understanding of the consumer ‘why’ behind the ‘what’ in the data
Serve as consumer advocate to drive empathy/understanding within the organization by clearly articulating the consumer voice and providing thought leadership
Deep understanding and application of the Brand architecture, including Brand pyramid, consumer mindset target, outdoor category landscape, and brand strengths
Manage brand tracking studies, monitor brand health and create a unified dashboard view of brand performance, including recommendations for growth or opportunities
Create annual learning agendas to support key business and stakeholder partner objectives
Bring key insights and recommendations to the seasonal creative campaign planning process; manage creative ad and messaging testing processes
Design and program quantitative and qualitative research (surveys, focus groups, online communities); translate research results into business implications and gain organizational alignment for recommendations.
Build and/or maintain productive partnerships with external research vendors; ensure clarity of objectives and quality deliverables; explore innovation in insights toolkits and approaches
Proactively develop ad-hoc research plans to better understand fluctuations in customer behaviors/perceptions
Qualifications
BS/BA; preferably in Analytics, Social Sciences, Marketing or related discipline
3+ years of professional experience in insights or brand management field
Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to tell a story using data; ability to simplify complexity
Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver persuasive presentations of research findings to diverse internal audiences including senior leadership
Strong problem-solving orientation; curiosity-driven approach to research
Must be proactive, collaborative, inquisitive, detail-oriented, and highly organized
Advanced project management skills to support effective initiative execution: setting of priorities/milestones, communication and follow-through, time management, organization, ability to build effective cross-functional partnerships
Ability to work independently and manage multiple, shifting priorities
