SUMMARY: The primary purpose of the Director of Nursing, DON, position is to plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of our Nursing Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator and the Medical Director, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
• Five years management experience with experience in long-term care preferred. 
• Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN in the state.
• General knowledge of professional basic nursing, restoratives and personal care services.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, write reports, and correspondence.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation, and interaction with coworkers.
