Job Description

As a Data Analyst you will be responsible for analyzing and organizing important information for different teams across the business and monitoring and handling data. With large quantities of data comes endless possibilities for mistakes, requiring the need to constantly be on the lookout for data that needs cleansing and updating. The information you will be primarily working with include membership and eligibility data, insurance claims, RX dispensing trends and lab reports, along with many other healthcare related datasets.

 

Responsibilities

  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
  • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Filter and “clean” data by reviewing reports and dashboards to locate and correct code problems
  • Work with operations to prioritize business and information needs
  • Responsible for building data models to organize important data for different teams across the business and for monitoring and handling data.

Desired Skills & Abilities

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • The ability to spot trends, challenges, and opportunities in the data analyzed.
  • Adept at SQL queries, report writing and presenting findings
  • Familiarity with ETL and data management/data operations
  • Ability to design maintainable and scalable solutions

Supervisory Responsibility: This position will have no supervisory responsibility.

 

Travel requirements: Travel will not be required.

 

Work Conditions: Ability to lift up to 20lbs. Fine motor skills/Visual acuity

The WBSM Data and Analytics team is responsible for the entire lifecycle of all data for the organization. Some of the primary duties of the team include:

  • Establishing automated processes to manage all data ingress and egress between payors, vendors, and applications.
  • Structuring and normalizing datasets within internal databases and file systems.
  • Querying and analyzing data to distribute insights to internal lines of business and external partners.
  • Designing and building sustainable and scalable dashboards, interfaces, and reports to inform on progress and gaps in operations.
  • Maintaining data integrity and quality across all systems and applications enabling our clinical and service teams to provide excellent care to every single patient.
  • Identifying opportunities to support, enable, and add efficiencies to the business’s operations.
