Our Platform & Reliability Engineering team collaborates across our organization to ensure the performance of our global content-delivery platform. We ensure our platform operates safely, reliably and adapts based on customer demand. We establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators, make configuration changes safely and oversee and operate over 300k+ servers in Akamais global network.

Collaborate with others to solve complex problems

This role will be responsible for data processing and integrity. Huge focus we put on developing tooling & monitoring to ensure highly available and low touch systems. It is great opportunity to take ownership of the future of Big Data for our customers.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will:

• Ensuring that data pipeline is complete and accurate through implementing automated tests to verify integrity
• Liaising with vendors and internal stakeholders to stay abreast of any changes
• Developing and executing workflows, writing automation where possible to tie internal identifiers to third party data
• Making data available in other systems and develop new data feeds and pipelines
• Publishing frequent statistics around data precision and accuracy through continually working to improve availability

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have commercial experience with Hadoop/HDFS and relational databases in a live environment
• Develop ETL with both relational such as Postgres and non-relational databases such as HBase
• Have experience with designing, managing and working heavily with production big data systems
• Demonstrate basic programming knowledge (Python or Bash or Scala or any other scripting one)
• Have an excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Enjoy working as a team, collaborating and solving problems with others
