SUMMARY

The primary functions of this position are to review background checks for acceptance or rejection according to company guidelines, auditing closed employment requisitions and/or other Human Resources procedures to comply with both internal procedures and/or federal and state laws. This position now functions as the back up to the Pre-Employment supervisor. Responsible for assisting with the I-9 compliance program. This position serves as the back-up to the I-9 compliance coordinator. This position will also provide administrative support to the Compliance Team

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsible for the review and adjudication of candidate’s criminal background report as well as MVRs, employment, and education background reports to ensure compliance with Ryder’s policies as well as Local, State, Federal regulations. Provide guidance to questions on departmental services, functions or practices. Provide support to recruiting partners and the business. Conduct monthly audits to ensure adherence to company policies, guidelines and procedures. Prepare reports or maintain files. Locate, compile or enter data into databases, files or spreadsheets

Responsible for assisting with the I-9 compliance program; including preparation of daily I-9 compliance report for HR partners. Executes company-wide e-verify process and assist the field with the tentative non-confirmation process thorough its resolution. Respond to field inquiries regarding I-9 completion and compliance. Conduct periodic internal audits to ensure adherence to company policies, guidelines and procedures. This position serves as the back-up to the I-9 compliance coordinator

Provide administrative support to Compliance Team as needed

EDUCATION

H.S. diploma/GED

EXPERIENCE

Three (3) years or more experience in related field and/or Human Resources

SKILLS

Possesses strong product knowledge. Applies advanced skills within functional area

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills.

Friendly and service-oriented. Ability to show patience and courtesy when dealing with others. Pleasant telephone manners

Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors).

Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment.

Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills.

Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices

KNOWLEDGE

Intermediate level knowledge in MS Word including styles, mail merge, tabs, tables, columns and breaks, graphics, fields, headers and footers, working with margins, page orientation and spelling/grammar.; intermediate level.

Advance level knowledge in MS Excel such as creating pivot tables, v-look up, creating reports, graphs, macros, etc.; advanced level.

Basic computer & e-mail knowledge using an Internet browser such as Internet Explorer; using an Internet Search Engine such as Google; understanding URLs; creating bookmarks (or favorites) within your browser; downloading files or saving the target of specific URLs; uploading files by using simple web forms; sending and receiving e-mails with attachments; saving e-mail attachments on your hard drive; using a word processor; pasting text from a web page or a word processor document into an e-mail; printing materials from the Internet or from other computer documents; saving a document as various file types; creating and managing files and folders on your computer; installing software downloaded from the Internet; finding files on your hard drive.; beginner level.
