Job Description 

We are looking for a data science analyst for Collection Value Stream (CVS) Decision Enablement Team supporting Card and Bank collection team (Customer Assistance & Recovery - CAR). CVS Decision enablement team is to enable delivery of CVS mission by providing performance and risk insights to empower data-driven decisions and accelerating organizational maturity. This role is a mission-critical and highly-visible position.

Responsible for working closely with management to execute analytical initiatives. Develops reports & dashboards; generates insights through analytics and identify opportunities for improvement while continuing to develop a strong understanding of the business, the underlying data used for analytics and analytical techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain existing business reporting and analytical solutions to enable collection Senior  Leadership make faster decision and deliver lower credit losses

  • Develop collection business & operation knowledge and continuous improvement mindset

  • Be responsible for key risk indicators (KRI) planning, establishing thresholds, conducting reporting and providing actionable insights from performance analysis

  • Perform regulatory reporting and collaborate with internal/external risk teams

  • Provide monthly/quarterly forecasting and analysis on CAR key metrics

  • Ensure effective communication on all deliverables and be able to present the work to VP-level senior management

  • Automate manual process by developing data logic with auto-scheduling, implementing interactive analytic reports and dashboards using data visualization products such as Tableau

  • Identify the appropriate data sources and analysis methodology to fulfil business ad-hoc requests

  • Collaborate with Loss Forecast, Finance, CAR Strategy, Process and other business partners

  • Applies techniques such as customer segmentation, optimization, test & design of experiments and predictive analytics to solve business problems. Uses financial impact analysis to assess the effectiveness of proposed solution/strategy.

  • Establishes and maintains effective performance tracking; identifies improvement opportunity, from hypotheses, proposes, designs and implements tests to drive strategy enhancement and optimization.

  • Manages multiple priorities, communicates business performance and project progress to management & business partners

  • Develops and automates reports, iteratively build and prototype dashboards to provide insights at scale, solving for analytical needs. Facilitates implementation of work product and ensure accuracy.

  • Consistently follow standard work processes and documentation requirements. Recommends improvement to work processes to increase efficiency while maintain quality of work. Continuously improves technical and leadership skills through training and development.

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Sciences or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Sciences or related field

  • Proficiency in SQL

  • Have the ability to work and succeed in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and accuracy and the ability to successfully complete assignments on time

  • Be a good team player

  • Have experience in Programming with a concentration in Data Science, or related field

  • Be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with technical and non-technical associates

  • Have knowledge and experience with various analytical tools/platforms including R/Python, Tableau and Teradata/Snowflake
