Description

SAIC, a leading provider of systems development & deployment, targeting & intelligence analysis, systems engineering & integration, and training capabilities and solutions for the Intelligence Community, is seeking creative and dedicated professional to fulfill their career goals and objectives while delivering mission excellence on programs of national importance.

SAIC’s Data Scientist will utilize analytic methods and methodological tools, i.e. applied mathematics, probability and statistics, data modeling, etc., to translate complex and technical findings into narratives and data visualizations. The Data Scientist will apply qualitative and quantitative methods to the analysis of data using various libraries and packages, including ETL tools, Data APIs, and data services.

Qualifications

Mandatory Skills:

• Must have an active TS/SCI with polygraph
• Three (3) or more years of demonstrated experience in data science techniques
• Utilizing SQL or other databases
• Using MS Excel for data manipulation, formulas, look ups, and pivot tables
• Translating complex, technical findings into a narrative (i.e., tell a story with the data) in graphical, verbal, or written form
• Developing data visualizations using Tableau
• Utilizing diverse data types
• Identifying and extracting data from multiple sources

Optional Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems or a related discipline. Note that education can be substituted for years of relevant experience.
• Utilizing Python natural language processing (NLP) packages such as Spacy, Gensim, and NLTK to analyze or process collections of documents
• Using AWS or other cloud services
• Familiarity with Amazon Web Servicers infrastructure and its native data science capabilities
• Using Agile methodology
• Utilizing Artifical Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) tools and techniques
