Job Description

Knowesis is seeking Data Scientists for a proposed project in the Virginia/Washington, DC area. 

Successful candidates will have expertise in securely transferring big data into new formats to make it more appropriate for analysis with insights gained from analyzing volumes of government data and other proprietary data bases; creating new, experimental frameworks to collect and analyze data; searching through large data sets for usable information; creating reports and presentations for investigative and auditing purposes; and correlating similar data to find actionable results.

Individuals with strong experience using a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, using a variety of data tools, to include Azure Synapse, building and implementing modes, using/creating algorithms and creating/running simulations, such as regressions and clustering are preferred, as well as a proven ability to drive change with their data-based insights. 

Additional expectations/preferences include:

  • Experience with law enforcement and oversight missions 
  • Comfort working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams across the Government
  • Expertise in SQL and either R or Python

Certification in one of the following areas is required:

  • Coursera IBM Data Science Professional Certificate
  • Tableau Data Scientist Desktop Specialist
  • HarvardX’s Data Science Professional Certificate
  • SAS Data Scientist Certifications
  • DASCA Data Science Certifications

Experience

Required
  • 3 year(s): Data Scientist

Education

Required
  • Masters or better in Applied Mathematics or related field
