These are all attributes our qualified candidate must possess to join our acclaimed Design team.   Reporting to the Director of Store Design, the Design Assistant will help develop and coordinate new design projects from concept through final implementation. Please note this job is located at our corporate offices:  450 Revolutionary Drive, East Taunton, MA, and will require some travel to our stores.

Some of the duties are as follows:

• Assists Director of Design with space planning, placement of furniture and equipment, color schemes and color coordination
• Develops, prepares and manages Autocad documents according to specifications for layout and design of interior construction and renovation projects
• Consults with outside contractors, Facilities and other departments to coordinate project details and interpret drawings
• Researches and assists in selection of project materials (e.g., flooring, textiles)
• Places orders for resources and requests sample materials (rugs, tiles, etc.) needed for project completion
• Assists in setting up renovated/newly constructed displays
• Organizes and manages files for every facet of design projects (lighting, paint colors, flooring, etc.)
• Assists with project management of all design projects and updates and tracks status and project plan
• Completes PO’s, check requisitions, invoices, etc. needed for project services
• Sets up, organizes, and maintains design library.  Creates and updates department intranet site
• Researches and schedules meetings with vendors to see new material and maintain materials library
• Serves as technical liaison between Merchandising and Information Systems departments
• Travels to all store locations and furniture markets as needed

• BS/BA in Interior Design
• 2-3 years experience using AutoCad and 3D Modeling using Google Sketch Up
• 2-3 years experience in retail/commercial design
• Knowledge of Revit software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Must have effective oral and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and an attention to detail
• Keen eye for design and creative
• Ability to type 35 wpm accurately and efficiently
• Current portfolio of design work and any samples of prepared auto cad documents for construction
