POSITION SUMMARY:

The Diet Technician provides quality nutrition care to our residents under the supervision of the Director, Nutritional Services.
The Diet Tech assists in identifying resident needs and participates with the interdisciplinary team to develop the Care Plan. They Compile and evaluate essential data in the preparation of Nutritional Assessments and Care Planning. The Diet Tech will evaluate residents at nutritional risk. They may assist in the preparation and distribution of resident and non-resident meals.

QUALIFICATIONS -

EDUCATION:

Minimum:

Associates from an accredited college or university.

LICENSE:

Minimum:

Registered (or registration eligible) Diet Technician with The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

WORK EXPERIENCE -

Minimum:

Experience in diet therapy and food service management in a health care facility.

Preferred:

Long Term Care food service and/or diet therapy experience

SKILLS -
- Minimum:
  - Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  - Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling.
  - Familiarity with regulatory requirements.
  - Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and oral), analytical, and organizational skills.
  - Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with the public in a professional and courteous manner.
  - Computer literacy.
- Preferred:
  - Experience with Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel.
