Direct Support Professional typically works in a private home with 1 on 1 ratio, and common activities include:
  • In-Home Assistance - Help your clients with day-to-day activities like preparing meals, cleaning, dressing, grooming, laundry, monitoring vital signs, bathing, toileting, technology and other basic activities
  • Companionship - Join your clients in playing games, arts and crafts, and accompany them to events outside the home like appointments, grocery shopping and running errands
  • Community Building - Create a safe and positive living situation for your clients by communicating with the family and other staff about any concerns or challenges

In order to be eligible for this role, you should have:
  • A HS Diploma or GED
  • A valid driver's license
  • Access to insured and reliable transportation
  • Recognition of the needs of others, and the ability to build relationships with people from different backgrounds
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to spend evenings and weekends caring for your clients with dignity, patience, and compassion
  • Dedication to professional development, including organizational and state-required training

Caregivers must comply with state background screening requirements. Compensation, benefits, time off and bonuses vary by state and location, so please ask for complete details at your interview.

*Effective 9/19/2022, hiring bonus eligibility is contingent on remaining an active employee for at least 60 days following the first shift, with at least 180 hours worked. Bonuses are paid within 30 days of reaching eligibility. Previous caregivers who worked for Help at Home prior to 1/1/2021 will be eligible for the bonus. Caregivers who are transferring from an organization within the Help at Home, LLC portfolio of companies are not eligible to receive the bonus. more
