We are seeking a Director of Laboratory Services to join a state-of-the-art facility near Fayetteville, North Carolina! The Laboratory Director plans, directs, and coordinates the daily operations of the lab and develops standards/criteria of care in compliance with regulatory agencies.

Essential Functions Of The Role

  • Reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
  • Responsible for the overall management, administration, and service provided in the Pathology and General Laboratory Departments.
  • Drives alignment and engagement with pathologists and laboratory staff. 
  • Elevates patient and internal customer satisfaction.  Partners with other department leaders to improve processes and implement standard work to ensure safe and high quality laboratory services in pursuit of zero harm. 
  • Exercises financial accountability as a good steward of system resources to ensure sustainability. 
  • Embodies and encourages the culture and values which comprise The Scotland Way.  department.
  • Coordinate all purchases of supplies, minor/capital equipment, invoice payment to laboratory services.
  • Direct laboratory business practices to ensure efficient and accurate patient/institutional fees and coding.
  • Establish and ensure compliance with all accrediting and regulatory standards, i.e. JCAHO, CAP, FDA, CMS, OSHA, and other agencies/organizations.
  • Produce laboratory financial and statistical reports, i.e., monthly responsibility reports, laboratory charges reports, and revenue reports.
  • Serve on committees and improvement teams to coordinate activities as they relate to pathology, i.e., diagnostic services, medical review, and quality assurance.
  • Consult and collaborate with other laboratory directors to achieve clinical integration, standardization, compliance, and to capture advantage due to economies of scale.
  • Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.

  • Ability to train and evaluate performance of supervised staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION - Bachelor's

EXPERIENCE - A minimum of 5 years experience required
