Director of Nursing (DON) Requirements:

  • Must have a current, valid and active RN license with the State of IL.
  • Nurse Management experience is preferred
  • Skilled/Long-Term Care experience is preferred

Director of Nursing (DON) Job Description:

Promoting and restoring patients' health within the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, families and nursing staff; supervising assigned team members.

Director of Nursing (DON) Job Duties:

  • Ability to multi-task and oversee nursing related functions with the facility on a daily basis
  • Provide education and training to nursing staff
  • Provide oversight and supervision of the clinical team
  • Identifies and monitors patient care requirements .
  • Establishes and promotes a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients and families.
  • Ensures and facilitate quality of care for our residents in collaboration with the clinical staff
  • Work with key partners to establish, achieve and maintain positive clinical outcomes
  • Resolves patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations;
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
  • Maintain accountability over regulatory compliance and staffing
  • Other Duties as needed or assigned

Director of Nursing (DON) Skills:

  • Knowledge of Skilled Care
  • Knowledge of IDPH standards and regulations is required
  • Knowledge of JCAHO standards and regulations is a plus
