POSITION SUMMARY

The Dispatcher supports customers and operations by efficiently routing Tank-Wagon delivery trucks based upon orders received (call ins, keep fills and monitors).

JOB EXPECTATIONS/DUTIES

  • Work in a highly fast-paced, ever-changing environment to quickly make delivery decisions and supply all customers efficiently.
  • Create and plan commercially effective fuel or lubricant delivery routes.
  • Communicate all relevant dispatch information to drivers to facilitate safe and efficient operations.
  • Review and analyze previous days deliveries, balance inventory and post transactions to facilitate automated billing to customers.
  • Review and update monitors for customer locations that have changed ensure tanks do not run out of product.
  • Review monitor list to add customers, that are over 60% empty, to the best available route.
  • Review all keep fills, for the next delivery day, to start routing trucks based on customer location and priority.
  • Add all call ins to build most effective route (fill truck to capacity, deliver furthest customer first, ensure driver will have enough DOT hours to finish route).
  • Reviewing KF plan / monitor utilization versus actual deliveries and recommending process improvements
  • Field all calls from drivers (cannot find customer, customer closed, incorrect information).
  • Work with Sales Team and Terminal Managers to update incorrect information in all systems and to provide the most accurate information to driver.
  • Create Work Order service dispatch plans.
  • Work to minimize & eliminate all residual open orders.
  • Check stock in Warehouse and where appropriate suggest improvements.
  • Work with credit team on customers that are on hold for next day delivery.


QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 3 + years of dispatching or driving experience within the fuel and lubricant delivery is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
