Location
This position is available to residents of Virginia as Lynchburg, VA and Richmond, VA in-office/hybrid applicants.

Your Role
The Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) team plays an important role at Genworth. You will play an integral role in ensuring that Genworth develops and implements strategies and programs designed to support the retention and success of under-represented groups. Our goal is to foster an inclusive environment where everyone can bring their true self to work. As a member of the D&I team you will be a key driver in providing cultural education opportunities, which includes promoting and supporting activities and events which celebrate diversity and develop an awareness of inclusion throughout the company.

What you will be doing
• Maintaining and promoting the company’s global D&I strategy focusing on employee engagement, inclusion, communication, change management, and learning initiatives aligned with the global strategy.
• Contributing to written communications that speak to D&I initiatives both internally for our employees and our external partnerships and publication.
• Working directly with HR Business Partners and HR Leaders to build and support inclusion initiatives that align with the teams' global roadmap, including the development of sustainable systems and behaviors that enable all employees to have a great experience at Genworth.
• Working with members of Genworth’s historically underrepresented groups, addressing their concerns and meeting their specific needs.
• Managing the Genworth Inclusion Council and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). Facilitating creation of strategy; providing direction, budgeting, and scheduling; and fostering integration among the ERGs.
• Partnering with the Genworth Foundation; internal HR, community relations and business functions; and employee groups to embed diversity and inclusion into talent, learning, recruitment, engagement and service opportunities.
• Working with business leadership to create a sense of belonging, enabling employees to bring their best selves to Genworth and feel comfortable to do their best work.
• Leading our community engagement efforts, which include continued development of external partnerships with schools, universities, and community organizations aligned with D&I-focused relationships and strategies
• Identifying and managing sponsorship opportunities with external community-focused organizations
• Facilitating internal training sessions on topics such as bias and allyship
• Maintaining a continuous learning mindset to stay current on research and development within the D&I space.

Must have/What you bring
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources and/or relevant D&I certifications.
• 5+ years combined experience in the field of Diversity and Inclusion in a corporate, consulting or related environment
• Proven experience in community engagement/relations, Employee Resource Groups, employee relations, with an understanding of the HR business partner function and skills requirements
• Strong skillset in program management & project management including the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables concurrently.
• Strong ability to analyze and leverage data and technology to effectively identify, utilize and present information in a way that facilitates evidence-based decision-making.
• Highly flexible with the ability to execute in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving organization.
• Strong problem resolution and attention to detail, be solutions-oriented with a drive for innovation and promote a collaborative environment
• Proven ability to think strategically and creatively around Diversity and Inclusion's application to HR, business units, and organizational business priorities
• Ability to come into the Lynchburg office 2-3 days a week, as well as ability to travel to other Genworth locations as needed

• Master’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or other relevant discipline
