Therapist - $3000 hiring bonus available.

General Summary of Duties: The Drug Court therapist will provide treatment to Drug Court participants with mental health symptoms and behavioral issues that may impact their success in Drug Court and their recovery from substance use disorders.

Major Responsibilities/Tasks:

• Make individual counseling available to all Drug Court clients, providing individualized treatment based on client needs that incorporates collateral from the Drug Court treatment team. Support clients in the development of life skills that enhance their stability in recovery.
• Provide psychoeducation on the clients mental health disorders and the SUD recovery process as it may impact mental health symptoms. Refer clients for psychiatric evaluation and medication management through KMHS when clinically indicated. Deliver services in person or by telehealth to maximize access to care.
• For each client served, provide consultation to the court based on a thorough understanding of the clients psychological, substance use, and medical history, their coping skills and strengths, and the clients ability to meet court requirements.

• Coordinate and consult with KMHS Pathways intensive outpatient treatment program, Crisis Triage Center, and Pacific Hope and Recovery as needed in order to provide appropriate level of care. Provide regular updates to the court on clients utilization of these services.

• Provide community resource information relevant to meeting clients basic needs such as food, clothing, transportation, clothing, and shelter.
• Maintain productive working relationships with the Drug Court treatment team, including the judge and the compliance officers, as well as other community providers and resources.

• Coordinate referrals to adjunctive services for employment, parenting, family counseling, etc. Coordinate clients transition to KMHS Adult Outpatient services when requested.
• Offer groups on topics approved by the court as relevant to the population being served.
• Provide general consultation to the court on mental health treatment and the mental health recovery process for clients with co-occurring substance use disorders.

• Respond, where appropriate, to information requests from judges, prosecutors, and public defenders, both general and client-specific.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Masters Degree in Psychology, social services, or behavioral health.

EXPERIENCE: Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience)

Minimum of two years experience working with clients with mental illness

Possess and maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle report and reliable, insured transportation.

Must meet and maintain the definition of a Mental Health Professional as defined in WAC 388-877-0500.

LICENSURE: Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration.
