You will provide leadership in the development and implementation of economic development initiatives focused on People, Place, and Prosperity and in alignment with both local needs and regional strategies.

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative leader in the field of economic and community development to serve as the Economic Development Director for our strategic partner, the Ludington & Scottville Area Chamber of Commerce (Chamber), serving Mason County. You will provide leadership in the development and implementation of economic development initiatives focused on People, Place, and Prosperity and in alignment with both local needs and regional strategies.

- You will have the opportunity to be a significant, positive catalyst in Mason County. You will be a critical stakeholder in the community, leveraging local relationships while being supported by a team of 35+ individuals at RPI.
- With your strong sense of commitment and teamwork, deep understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, you will help shape and promote a collaborative, partnership-based culture of economic development for the West Michigan region.
- You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the non-profit including project workflows, budgets, workgroups and committees, funding efforts, and organizational management.
- Utilizing a problem-solver approach, you will proactively meet with companies in Mason County to address their business concerns.
- You will cultivate partnerships with the community, economic development allies, and nonprofit and municipal leaders to strengthen the competitiveness of Mason County within the state, national, and global economy.
- You will get the chance to represent the Chamber and RPI at the local, regional, state, and national levels. You will collaborate with business leaders, donors, government representatives, and members of the community.

- You hold a bachelor's degree and/or equivalent relevant experience.
- You are an effective communicator.
- You are self-directed with a strong ability to work independently or as a key member of a team.
- You have proven experience managing and prioritizing real-time demands.
- You have reliable transportation for travel throughout Mason County and the region (mileage reimbursement policy in place).
