Who We Are

Efgb - French Education Greater Boston - is a non-profit organization that aims to provide francophone families in the Boston area affordable high quality educational options for children. Our goal is to share our passion for French language and francophone cultures with the greater Boston community by offering programs and events that bring together and celebrate the diverse nature of the francophone community.

EFGB is a Bilingual school (Toddler to 5th grade) with three campuses located in Watertown, in Cambridge - Fresh Pond and in Cambridge - Porter Square. We are fully accredited by the French Ministry of Education and we are part of the agency for the development of French education overseas AEFE (add a link : https://www.aefe.fr/). Our program is rigorous and our teacher are highly qualified. We have almost 500 schools like us all over the world, 46 of which are in the US, accounting for more than 330,000 students in total.

Job Summary

We are looking to hire our new English teacher to help us implement an enriching and stimulating curriculum.

Here at Efgb French School, teachers work in teams to create quality environments for children. Our Mission is to promote a positive learning environment and personalized approach that sets the stage for extraordinary learning experiences. Classroom teams create developmentally appropriate lesson plans following the french standards.

Responsibilities And Duties

  • Exercise open and respectful communication with families, co-workers, supervisors, and other school staff
  • Measure progress and accomplishments of students towards their academic achievements on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required
  • Manage student behavior in accordance with outlined guidelines
  • Provide a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom and on the school campus
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships effectively and professionally with families and students
  • Experience developing and implementing curriculum
  • Physical ability to handle frequent sitting, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, and moving throughout the room
  • Proven ability to maintain a safe and studious classroom environment
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum

Qualifications And Skills
  • Applicant must be a positive team player, hands-on, enjoy being outdoors, and able to multi-task. The candidate should conduct oneself professionally and provide quality teaching and nurturing care to children (3 years through 10 years) enrolled in the program. Prior classroom experience working with young children.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices. Strong written and communication skills
  • Applicant shall have a good overview of the multiculturalism.
