This important Facility Management leadership role will oversee and be accountable for the Sodexo Service Delivery at client commercial office space to include Hard Services, Soft Services Food, and Lab Consumables within the Mid-Atlantic / Northeast region.  Hard Services includes building management, lite-touch engineering and small project work, small move management and energy management.  Soft Services include Café, Fitness, D&L, Conference Services, Records, Waste Management, Workwear Management, Grounds Maintenance (includes landscaping, pest control, and snow removal), and Records Services. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full management of all facility services including hard services, project management, energy management, move management and soft services
  • Lead a team of approximately 15 – 20 employees
  • Ensure all contract performance metrics are met / exceeded
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for building incidents / escalations with the client
  • Drive a One Team – Team account culture
  • Adhere to and drive compliance with all preventative maintenance programs (i.e., Maximo)
  • Drive thought-leadership and implement innovative programs and processes that result in working better, faster, cheaper, smarter
  • Promote a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with all health, safety, environment and risk management policies
  • Support account wide initiatives such as compliance reviews, audits, training programs and other key initiatives as needed
  • Develop business plan, budget and forecast for site
  • Maintain Quality & Company Standards – review and maintain reports to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and Sodexo / System Client(s) policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for system succession planning/employee development/diversity initiatives/training/constructive counseling. Promote and support workplace diversity initiatives.
  • Provide strategic leadership within the account team to maintain client satisfaction and retention
  • Assist in the oversight and development of the facility operating budgets, proactively track variances and manage within targets of approved budgets
  • Support and represent facilities as an SME in the planning the client’s annual capital plan
  • Ensure compliance with site governance reporting

Position Summary:

The Executive Director of Facilities Operations leads or directs facilities maintenance operations of building(s) and property at a single mega-site or multi-site unit.   This position may function as head of a small mega-site unit with three levels of management reporting up to this position; or may assist in the leadership of a large mega or multi-site unit reporting up to a VP, Facilities Operations. The Executive Director of Facilities Operations leads or assists in the integration of processes within the client organization to maintain and develop agreed services which support and improve the effectiveness of its primary activities.  At the organizational level, the Executive Director of Facilities Operations may contribute to the delivery of strategic and operational objectives by reducing facility costs, and improving the productivity, revenue generating capacity and image of the entire organization. This position ensures a safe and efficient working environment, essential to the performance of the business.  The Executive Director of Facilities Operations often manages construction work and may coordinate and/or oversee contracted services for major construction. The position often manages other core Sodexo services, and/or  logistics of business/operations services, e.g., grounds keeping, laundry, food, security, inventory, mail, concierge services.

 

 

Qualifications & Requirements:

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience - 7 years

Basic Functional Experience- 7 years in facilities management, engineering, management of business/operations service in both soft and hard facilities services
