Who are we?

Banyan Cay Resort & Golf is a unique luxury resort that will mark the entry of the Destination Hotels brand into Florida and will be the first full-service Hyatt-branded property in Palm Beach County. Near West Palm Beach International Airport, this stunning brand new resort will provide comprehensive boutique hotel services for hotel guests and tenants of the resort's residential properties.

In addition to the Jack Nicklaus Signature Course, practice facilities, and clubhouse, Banyan Cay will feature the best spa in West Palm Beach, a signature restaurant with complete catering services, and event and meeting facilities for groups of up to 200 people.

With an anticipated grand opening in early 2022, we are looking to hire this role in December 2021 to be a part of building this exciting new centerpiece of West Palm Beach.

What you will have an opportunity to do:

Work directly with and in the absence of the Executive Chef to maintain and improve the culinary operations. Must be a liaison with all departments within the kitchen and all other hotel departments. Skills and knowledge to include cost control, team leadership, communication skills, training skills and knowledge of all kitchen-related tasks, menu costing and menu development, computer skills, kitchen department organizational skills and knowledge, guest contact, staff scheduling, and staff management experience. Responsible for the People, Product, and Profit components of the culinary department within the resort. Skills and knowledge must include culinary education, team leadership, communication skills, computer skills and knowledge, organizational skills, menu costing and menu development, food cost, and staff management.

What are we looking for?

  • Be familiar with basic and advance cooking methods.
  • Must be able to work long hours including weekends and holidays.
  • Have 5+ years of experience as a cook in a high volume professional kitchen
  • Must have basic allergy knowledge
  • Must have full knowledge of correct cooking temperatures of all vegetables and proteins, must be able to provide cutting tools needed to perform the ob as well as a calibrated food -rade thermometer.
  • Must have full knowledge of the state’s health codes as well as the eco sure food safety and health report
  • Active Food handler’s certification 
  • Requires strong organizational skills
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Able to be on your feet for long periods of time
  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Have a desire to exceed expectations
  • An energetic personality
