Job Description

SocialSEO is seeking an experienced Video Production Editor to join our team! Must have at least 2–4 years of experience to apply. This can be a remote position.

The Video Production Editor is responsible for reviewing audio and visual footage and organizing clips into a cohesive final product for the client. Duties include splitting or combining video clips, adding appropriate sounds or graphics, and watching the finished product to catch mistakes before submitting it for review. This role will be tasked with taking the raw footage shot by a film crew and director and turning it into the final product. This role will also be tasked with assisting the sales to team close new prospects as well as assisting account managers on upselling video marketing to their clients.

Skills:

  • Proficient in multimedia and communications
  • Proficient in video editing software programs
  • General understanding of computers and digital equipment and knowledge of new and cutting-edge technology
  • Ability to take and follow directions, while also having a creative eye for improvements
  • Ability to act in a sales role and assist in closing deals

Job responsibilities:

  • Assembling raw footage and transferring or uploading it to a computer
  • Following a script, screenplay, or outline
  • Inputting sound to enhance footage, which may include selecting music and writing voice-overs
  • Inputting graphics to enhance footage
  • Digitally splicing film and video and synchronizing them into one rough cut file
  • Improving and correcting lighting, coloring, and faulty footage
  • Manipulating and editing film pieces in a way that is invisible to the audience
  • Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running
  • Taking a brief to grasp the production team’s needs and specifications
  • Reviewing shooting script and raw material to create a shot decision list based on scenes’ value and contribution to continuity
  • Working closely with the video team to present a final product that matches his or her vision
  • Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency.
  • Assist both the sales and account management team in selling video marketing services to prospects and clients.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of successful video production editing experience
  • Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects, and Final Cut)
  • Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio
  • Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation, and continuity
  • Familiarity with special effects, 3D, and compositing
  • Creative mind and storytelling skills
  • BS degree in film studies, cinematography, or related field
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Strong technical aptitude
