This position is responsible for all repairs and maintenance for all building and grounds equipment.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Repairs and refinishes floors, walls and roofs of all buildings using all materials, compounds, paints and tools required.
- Re-lamping of interior and exterior lamping.
- Assist Maintenance Technicians as required.
- Assists supervisor in training new employees in the proper use and operation of all equipment as well as the proper use of materials and application of methods used in the buildings and grounds department.
- Assist with vendor access as required; purchasing and Maintain inventory for supplies and equipment.
Expected Areas of Competence
- Able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and/or 5th shift operations when required. Core Hours 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- Must be able to work with industrial and construction equipment.
- Experience using all hand tools, tamper, trencher, grader, sod cutter, post hole digger, trucks, tractor, , lift truck, paint spraying equipment, ladder, high jacks, scaffolding, scrubber, buffer, grinder, sweepers, and steam cleaner is preferred.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Able to work outside during inclement weather.
- Must be able to read building blueprints and mechanical schematics.
- Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Internet Search Engines).
- Must be able to read site drawings.
- Must be able to solder and/or weld pipe fitting.
Education/Experience Requirements
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED (Plumbing, Carpentry, Handyman experience or equivalent).
- Vehicle Operators License in good standing.
Travel Requirements
- Up to 10% at facilities and work sites up to 10 miles apart.
