Summary of the Feature Owner – Advanced Sensing Systems

In this position, you'll be responsible for taking interior sensing ideas (related to safety systems), and creating concept systems. You will author system requirements for new features as well as define and take ownership of some of those features to oversee their development from start to finish. Feature Owners work closely with the feature developers as well as validation team to ensure successful development of the feature.

Responsibilities of Feature Owner – Advanced Sensing Systems

  • Conduct research (literature reviews) and develop feature concepts given market and regulatory needs
  • Create clean slate requirements from high-level feature concepts
  • Decompose requirements to System and domain level requirements (HW/SW Mech)
  • Oversee the start to finish development of system level features (Requirements, Data Collection, Feature Development, Validation, SW Test, Embedding, to Execution/Customer Feedback)

Qualifications of the Feature Owner – Advanced Sensing Systems

  • Bachelors Degree (Masters preferred) in Engineering related to the work.
  • 5+ years of experience in independent requirements development (authoring) for automotive, or related, systems
  • Ability to independently conduct research and develop novel feature concepts
  • High level understanding of sensing technologies, such as vision/camera, radar, lidar, etc.
  • Good knowledge of feature development cycle (requirements/validation/SW test/embedding)
  • Some familiarity with model-based Systems Engineering (SysML) is a plus, along with requirements management tools (DOORS, Codebeamer, etc.)

Compensation of the Feature Owner – Advanced Sensing Systems
Salary Range: $125,000-140,000 /year, depending on experience
