Opportunity Summary:

50 year old design and manufacturing company specializing in industrial manufacturing equipment is seeking to hire a General Manager at their Winston-Salem, NC headquarters. Industries served are diversified and include Aerospace, Automotive, Medical, Military, Nuclear, Pharmaceutical, Semiconductors, Ceramics, Research & Universities, and General Manufacturing. Employees at this company enjoy an apolitical work environment where everyone works together to make the customer their highest priority.

Key Accountabilities:

Drive Growth and Profitability – Develop and execute strategic and tactical plans to drive top line business growth, and control expenses to achieve the necessary bottom line financial results. (35% of time will be spent in this area)
Organizational Development – Design and implement necessary organizational structure. Train and develop all key personnel to drive the necessary levels of performance. Drive a culture of safe work practices, eliminating accidents and incidents. (30% of time will be spent in this area)
Process Development and Improvement – Optimize plant and office facilities utilizing Lean/Six Sigma techniques. Sustain and enhance existing processes to deliver outstanding customer service by assuring on time delivery of a quality product. (25% of time will be spent in this area)
Communication – Proactively keep the organization informed about status towards goals and objectives on an ongoing basis. (10% of time will be spent in this area)

Requirements:

Must Have:

Manufacturing leadership experience in a related environment.
Experience managing various channels (e.g., direct sales, reps, distributors).
P&L management experience.
Experience creating and executing strategic and tactical plans.
Proven track record of driving success in operational improvement and profitability.
Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization.
Excellent mentoring, coaching, process management and people leadership skills with good systems of accountability.
Successful experience in a customer driven organization, consistently meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
BS degree in engineering or a related field.

Would Like:

Experience with Continuous Improvement/ Lean/ Six Sigma processes.
Demonstrated record of leading team driven results in growing a business profitably.
Experience with effective utilization of ERP/Information Systems.
Strong industry experience.
Background in product development innovation
