Job Description
Reporting to the Plant HR Manager, you will be responsible for employee relations and labor relations resource at a large plant site (approx. 800 employees). Responsible for several area of human resources such as recruiting, labor relations, training, EEO/AAP, benefits, employee relations, compensation and continuous improvement. Involves administration of existing programs following policies and procedures including EEO compliance.
You will:
- Administer human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel
- Helps develop and implement personnel policies and procedures
- Prepare and maintain employee handbook and procedures manual.
- Participate in developing department goals and systems.
- Administer the compensation program
- Monitor the performance evaluation program and revise as needed
- Communicate benefit and wellness program information to employees.
- Develop and maintain affirmative action program; file EEO-1 report annually; maintain other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
- Conduct recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students and seasonal employees;
- Conduct new-employee orientations.
- Write and place advertisements.
- Handle employee relations counseling and exit interviewing.
- Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
- Helps evaluate reports, decisions and results of department concerning established goals.
- Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
- Maintain human resource information system records and compile reports from the database.
- Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
- Serve as the employee advocate and maintain collaborative relationship with Union leadership
You must have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources or related field
- 3+ years in Human Resources
- 2+ years in union facility
- Experience with HRIS systems
- Demonstrated recruitment experience for both hourly and salary positions
- Demonstrated knowledge of EEO and Affirmative Action regulations and requirements
- Bi-lingual; Spanish speaking preferred
