HR Generalist

The Human Resources Generalist provides support for the Operation, such as recruiting and selection for open positions, administration of affirmative action and salary guidelines, training, and performance management by working in partnership with other functional leaders and the National HR team. Ensure that human resource activities support the Company's service Vision and Values.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

• Partner with local operations leadership in the areas of employee relations, recognition, employee development, retention, engagement, communication, and succession planning
• Assist with employee onboarding and facilitate new employee orientation presentations
• Conduct workplace investigations
• Regularly compile and review metrics such as turnover, staffing models, and employee engagement scores; proactively make recommendations and action plans; partner with leaders to execute on plans
• Advise leaders on employment matters including development plans, performance improvement plans, corrective action
• Participate in union negotiations; ensure compliance with contracts; keep HRIS up to date with contractual increases and staff movements; grievance and arbitration processing
• Partner with centers of excellence including Talent Acquisition, Compensation, and Benefits as needed
• Process wage step increase, merit increases and other Workday related actions
• Assist employees with questions and help them connect with appropriate resources, including 3 rd party vendors
• Audit HRIS data and make corrections when needed

QUALIFICATIONS

• HS Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• At least 3 years of exempt level HR experience
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification desirable
• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field of study desirable
• Union Relations experience helpful
